Welcome! I'm Lakshmi.

I was born in India and moved to the US as a young girl. Traveling back to India to visit family each year fueled my love for travel, which grew into a passion to learning about others. I love meeting new people and seeing new places -- the world has so much to offer.

Fast forward to two decades of global corporate experiences and being a mother of two, I love sharing this passion with my children. I believe that teaching children about the world helps them grow into more compassionate, more inclusive, more tolerant citizens of the world.

As a world traveler, Lakshmi and I have traveled for business and pleasure. She ensured that she would start her daughters young on their travels and knowledge of the world. This is reflected in how her children engage with other kids to learn more about them. That's her differentiator- she translates the global travels to learnings for other moms and kids. Also, I found her blog and travel tips not only useful for parents with kids, but for adults too!

I follow Travel Plus Themโ€™s Instagram page and I noticed that she recently traveled with her kids during COVID. Hence, I contacted her directly and wanted her perspective for my potential upcoming family trip. She gave us all the tips for where we could go (based on the list of countries that are open to US passengers) and sent us the travel guidelines she created. As I said to Lakshmi, it prepared us 1000% for what to expect at the airport, on the flight, and upon arrival.

I love this blog and insights so much, thank you for sharing these tips. We are definitely working on all of these around here, throughout the year just like you said.

Not only do you have knowledge, your passion alone differentiates you. It is great to read your insights as an executive, a mother, learn about safe ways to travel during COVID, and how to bring the world to our home.

"I watched the trailer and showed it to my kids. They wanted to see more of the young girls teaching them and so we bought the bundle. My children were impressed with Lakshmi's daughters- speaking multiple languages and how much knew about the world. Most importantly, my kids gained their interest to learn about continents from watching the video. We love animals so we started from there. We are now on our journey and look forward to the next series of videos and learnings packets."
